Personalized Learning Days

What are Personalized Learning Days?

Personalized Learning days (PLD’s) provide OCA continued opportunities to positively impact and meet the varied needs of students in our school community. PLD’s are not a “day off” and students will be required to complete assignments and tasks in each of their courses. Our instructional model provides more than the state required time for our high school class and PLD’s are utilized to support mastery of content and the overall student experience. Attendance will be taken.

The scope of these activities or assignments is left up to the discretion of the individual teachers/department via virtual learning. During PLD's, students may be required to attend small groups on campus for additional support or enrichment, meet with clubs, make-up work, etc. Teachers will communicate expectations to their students prior to each of these days and staff will be available during school hours.

Our school team believes the addition of personalized learning days to our academic calendar is a valuable opportunity for differentiated instruction, collaboration, extra-support and flexibility for the students to continue to perform at high levels while managing their multitude of responsibilities. We appreciate your support when students are required to be on campus during PLD and meeting expectations of the day.

Personalized Learning Days are indicated on the academic calendar. Our first PLD day is August 30.
