The 2024-25 school year has begun and we are now mid-way through the first quarter! OCA’s faculty and staff are here to support and assist your student(s) as they find their own level of academic success - but we can’t do it alone! Below you will find guidelines and additional support that is available to your student(s) and ways you can help at home!
With OCA’s rigorous high school and college curriculum, there is no work around for putting in the time and work (both on campus and at home).
Student Responsibilities
- Be on time and prepared for each class period!
- Complete all assignments, homework, and coursework.
- Avoid zeros (very detrimental to grades).
- Actively participate in class.
- Take notes, ask questions, participate in groups/discussions.
- Campus Supports Available:
- Use available online resources (Progress Learning, DeltaMath, Khan Academy, etc.).
Parent Support
- Review the above responsibilities with your student(s).
- Confirm with the teacher/PowerSchool if necessary.
- Encourage your student(s) to communicate directly with the teacher if they are struggling or with questions.
- Facilitate support at home.
- Place to work, time spent on studying, check PS and ask questions.
- Email the course teacher about specific concerns or for a parent conference (after your student has reached out and utilized support(s) listed above).
