Mission Statement

Oceanside Collegiate Academy (OCA) serves high school students in a safe, small, and family like setting, who seek the opportunity and challenge of a rigorous curriculum, high academic standards, and elite athletics, while earning up to two years of college credit.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy (OCA)

located in Mount Pleasant, SC, is a public charter school with an enrollment of no more than 675 students.

Curriculum

OCA serves students in grades 9-12 using an honors curriculum in 9th and 10th grade and a dual enrollment curriculum in 11th and 12th grade.

Dual Enrollment

OCA’s dual enrollment program offers courses which allow students to earn both Carnegie units (high school) and college credit at zero cost to students or families.

Partnering with Trident Technical College (TTC), all qualifying students take their college courses on OCA’s campus. The courses are taught by OCA Faculty, vetted by TTC. Students take these courses while living at home under the support and supervision of their families. OCA professors are allowed and encouraged to communicate with parents regarding their student’s academic performance.

College courses are academically rigorous and require a high level of student commitment. 90% of our Juniors and Seniors are enrolled as full-time college students while attending Oceanside. 98% of college students passed and received credit for all their college courses.

Available college courses include Algebra, Probability & Statistics, Trigonometry, US History, Spanish, English, Economics, Biology, Western Civilization, Anatomy & Physiology, Theatre, American Literature and Psychology. We offer classes based on high school / college requirements, level of interest for a class and availability of professors.

SCHEDULE

AM Session: 7:30 - 11:20 AM
PM Session: 11:45 AM - 3:35 PM

All OCA students are scheduled in either the AM or PM session and should plan extra-curricular activities outside of their assigned session time. OCA administration is unable to consider individual academic session requests.

OCA student-athletes will be placed in an academic session based on their OCA sponsored sports schedule.

Students must be under the direct supervision of a teacher or a coach if on campus outside of their session time.

The OCA high school honors curriculum operates on a year long schedule; however, our college classes are on a semester schedule.

Ninth and tenth grade students take at least one virtual class from home. All OCA students take a business elective each year they attend OCA.

Oceanside is a 1:1 technology school.

ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHTS

The Oceanside Class of 2023 students earned more than 4,500 college credits and stand to save over three million dollars in college tuition, textbooks and technology costs.

Our 2023 Senior class was offered upwards of 10 million dollars in academic and athletic scholarships.

Oceanside provides our students the opportunity to graduate with four years of a solid core curriculum; a high school diploma; and the possibility of earning up to 60 credits of college coursework. We pride ourselves on fostering a positive school culture and environment.
