Michael Cavallo joins Oceanside Collegiate Academy with more than 10 years of experience as a Special Education teacher. He is a graduate, and former basketball player, from Susquehanna University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2007.
After graduation, Mr. Cavallo pursued his interest in athletics as he worked for the National Basketball Association and Monroe Sports Center in New Jersey. He worked closely with and trained athletes of all ages which led him to his calling in the field of education.
He earned his Master’s degree in the area of Special Education (K-12) with an extension in general education from Touro College. Since 2011, Mr. Cavallo has taught special education students, ranging from grades 3-12.
Born and raised in New York City, he made the move to Charleston with his wife in 2017. He has since welcomed a son into his life who is now two-and-a-half-years old. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing and coaching basketball, and exploring the Charleston area.
