Oceanside Collegiate Academy is excited to announce that Coach Taylor Foster is returning as Head Cheer Coach!
Coach Foster is a Charleston native and she graduated from James Island Charter High School. She completed her Associate of Science degree at Trident Technical College before earning her Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management and Development at the College of Charleston.
Throughout her personal cheerleading career, Foster's most notable milestones were qualifying for the SCHSL State Championship in 2013, being appointed team captain her senior year and winning the Summit All-Star National Championship in 2017.
While proud of achievements like these, she also values the diversity of her journey. She began with recreational sideline cheer which taught her the fundamentals of the sport. Her experience in All-Star competitive cheerleading made her value work ethic and dedication. Her time as a cheerleader at The Citadel Military College gave her a unique perspective on discipline and professionalism.
Coach Foster started her coaching career with two years as an Assistant Coach in all-star cheerleading before serving three seasons as Oceanside's Assistant Spirit Coach. A large part of her role as Assistant Coach was providing specialized knowledge of cheerleading skills to bring stunting and tumbling to the sidelines.
She looks forward to building on Oceanside's strong values and growing a legacy of excellence in the sport.
