Hard Work Pays Off!

Words to live by for Oceanside Collegiate Academy’s new Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Brian Coleman. It was that blue collar work ethic he first learned growing up in Northeastern Ohio. At Cuyahoga Falls High School he earned All-Ohio honors in Football & Wrestling while Bigger Faster Stronger Magazine named him All-American and “the nation’s strongest football player”.

Next, he attended Syracuse University on a full athletic scholarship. While there, he worked himself into a three-year letter winner and two-year starter at defensive tackle on the Orange football team while playing in four bowl games and winning three Big East Conference Championships.

He graduated from Syracuse in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and minor in Coaching.

Coach Coleman started his Strength & Conditioning coaching career in 2000 as Head Strength Coach at Nordonia High School in Macedonia, Ohio. He later became the Director of Strength & Conditioning at Upper Arlington High School in Columbus, Ohio, where he oversaw all forms of athletic development for their 32 varsity and club sports.

After helping the Golden Bears to more than 25 individual and team State Championships, he decided to move to South Carolina for its beautiful weather.

After landing at Georgetown High School in 2018 he became Head Strength Coach at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill and, most recently, Head Strength Coach and varsity defensive line coach Dillon High School.

Coach Coleman is a Certified Strength & Conditioning teacher with more than 23 years of high school experience in three states. He has an enthusiastic and high energy approach towards helping high school students reach their individual athletic potential while learning how to prepare for a lifetime of fitness.

Hard Work in the weight room has paid off for Coach Coleman and the student-athletes he works with.

It always does.
