Chris Collins

Coach Collins was born in Oakland, Cal., and also spent years throughout his life growing up in Birmingham, Ala., and Orlando, Fla. He started playing baseball when he was four years old and played until he graduated from high school.

It wasn’t until he attended Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Fla., that he began to compete in Track and Field during his sophomore year. He competed in the Javelin Throw and earned three consecutive conference championships, USTFCCCA Division 1 All-Academic Team honors, an opportunity to compete at the NCAA Division I Regional. 

He currently holds the school record in the javelin. He graduated from B-CU in 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education. He also attended Arkansas State University for his final year of eligibility and earned another opportunity to compete at the NCAA Division I Regional in addition to being #2 All-time in the Javelin Throw.

Coach Collins is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and recognized as a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach. He have been fortunate to gain practical experience at the high school, collegiate and professional levels.

Outside of Strength & Conditioning, he enjoys being in nature, studying and learning new languages, traveling, cooking and he still trains/competes in Javelin throwing for fun.
