Savannah Metz joined the Oceanside Collegiate Academy team this year as part of the OCA partnership with Roper St. Francis Healthcare.
A Lewisberry, Pa., native Metz attended Wingate University where she played soccer for two seasons, earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2019. She went on from there to Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., where she competed on both the women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams while earning a second Bachelor of Science degree, this in Kinesiology in 2022.
While at Gordon she also worked as an Athletic Training student aide and intern.
She attended graduate school at UNC Wilmington, earning a Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2024. She received her certification as an Athletic Trainer from the Board of Certification in 2024 and also received her license for the state of South Carolina that same year. She is also certified in Basic Life Support by the American Hear Association.
Throughout her educational journey, Metz was active as a student trainer. She served as a summer Athletic Training Intern for the Charleston Battery in 2021, for New Hanover (NC) High School in 2022, South Brunswick (NC) High in 2023, for the Wilmington Hammerheads in 2023 and for Charlotte FC in 2023.
While in grad school at UNCW she worked with men's soccer, men's tennis and track & field.
