Jordan Bowen serves as an assistant girls volleyball coach at Oceanside Collegiate Academy, bringing NCAA Division II playing experience and a background in athletics communications and visual media to the Landsharks volleyball program.
A native of Nebraska, Bowen began her collegiate playing career at Limestone University. She made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2019, appearing in all 28 matches and 94 sets while finishing fourth on the team with 179 kills. She added 31 blocks and 36 digs and recorded six matches with double-digit kills, including a season-high 17 in a five-set victory over Georgia College.
During the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season, Bowen recorded 44 kills, 15 digs and 10 blocks in nine matches. She delivered a season-high 12 kills in a five-set win over Coker and recorded a career-high four blocks against Anderson. Bowen continued to contribute during the 2021 season before transferring to Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania to complete her collegiate career.
At Shippensburg, Bowen appeared in 20 matches and 49 sets during the 2022 season, earning five starts. She recorded 64 kills, 20 digs and 18 blocks, highlighted by a season-high 14 kills against Palm Beach Atlantic. She also produced seven kills without an error against Millersville.
Bowen earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication, Journalism and Media from Shippensburg in December 2023, concentrating in Visual Media. She was a Dean's List student during multiple semesters of her collegiate career and was active in the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), The Slate student newspaper and NCAA Division II women's volleyball.
Her academic interests also explored the intersection of sports and media. Bowen presented at Shippensburg's Mind@Works Conference on the sexualization of female athletes.
While completing her degree, Bowen expanded her experience behind the scenes in collegiate athletics by interning in the Shippensburg University Sports Information Office from August through December 2023. The experience complemented her background as a student-athlete while allowing her to apply her skills in communications and visual media within an intercollegiate athletics department.
A graphic designer and photographer, Bowen is motivated by using artistic expression to create and strengthen community. Her additional creative and communications experience includes work with the Shippensburg Fashion and Archives Museum, Shippensburg's PRSSA chapter and Charleston Magazine.
In August 2025, Bowen served as a Social Media Fellow with the Mountain West Conference, further expanding her experience in collegiate athletics communications and digital media at the conference level.
Before college, Bowen attended Omaha Westside High School in Nebraska, where she earned three varsity letters in volleyball. She also competed for Nebraska Elite Volleyball on the club circuit and participated in track and field and unified track and field. She was a member of the National Art Honor Society, Medical Club and Latin Club.
Bowen's combination of NCAA Division II playing experience, athletics communications and creative media provides her with a unique perspective as a member of the Oceanside Collegiate Academy coaching staff. Having experienced the demands of collegiate volleyball firsthand, she is able to help Landshark student-athletes develop their skills while providing insight into the preparation, teamwork and commitment necessary to compete at the next level.
