Oceanside Collegiate Academy

Dave Sollazzo attended The Citadel on a full football scholarship to play for legendary coach Bobby Ross and fellow legend Ralph Friedgen. Dave then dedicated his life to coaching and teaching football and at the highest level. From 1989 to 1998, he was the defensive line coach at The Citadel, going on to win the Southern Conference Championship and the FCS Playoffs twice.

David was reunited with head Coach Friedgen at the University of Maryland, where he served as their defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for 10 years. Coach Sollazzo was part of two ACC Championships at University of Maryland, overall coaching in 10 Bowl Games between Georgia Tech and Maryland.  

More than 20 of Dave’s college student-athletes went on to play in the NFL. Dave’s incredibly successful career includes head and defensive coaching positions at three high schools in South Carolina and three in Connecticut. As a high school football coach, he has contributed to many players going on to the collegiate level.
