Oceanside Collegiate Academy

Quinton Hollis "Coach Q" was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., and is a graduate and former basketball player at the College of Charleston, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and played under the legendary Coach Kresse.

After graduating, Coach Q moved back to his hometown in Georgia where he worked as a middle school paraprofessional for four years. While there he also coached junior varsity and varsity basketball at his former high school, Redan High. 

During the off season, Coach Q spent time coaching AAU ball for the Atlanta Select Organization between 2006-2010. Hollis later returned to Charleston with his wife whom he met at The College of Charleston, and they now have two beautiful daughters.  

Hollis joined Oceanside in its inaugural year in 2016 as a student concern specialist and JV boys basketball coach. After a season and a half, he was promoted to head coach of the boys basketball team. In five seasons the boys basketball team has won four region championships, one lower state championship and had one appearance in the state championship game. He was selected as the 2022-23 OCA Coach of the Year.

His passion is teaching life lessons through the game of basketball.
