Tom Harris

Entering his sixth season as head coach, Tom Harris led Oceanside Lacrosse to back-to-back State Championships in 2018 and 2019.?

Coach Harris graduated from New Canaan High School in 2003 after leading his team to an undefeated season with a Division I Connecticut State Championship as the team’s leader in points and assists. Harris received All-County and All-State Awards for his 2003 season and was a Connecticut Senior All-Star. 

He went on to play Division I Lacrosse at the University of Hartford where he was a four-year starter and two-time captain. In 2007, he was selected as the American East Player of the Week where he had three goals against Quinnipiac and three goals during a victory against nationally ranked Stony Brook.

Between the 2007 and 2008 seasons, Harris coached and played for the Footscray Lacrosse Club in Melbourne, Australia. Harris was the Head Coach of the club’s U19 team and led them to the Victoria State Championship. He was selected #84 overall in the Major League Lacrosse supplemental draft by the Charlotte Hounds and played one year.

After moving to Charleston, Harris founded the Loggerhead Lacrosse Club in 2010, growing it from 20 players to 250 since its start. More than 40 Loggerheads have played, or are playing or are committed to playing Divisions I, II and III college lacrosse.

Harris and his wife, Shanna, reside in Mount Pleasant with their two boys, TJ and Nate.
