Oceanside Collegiate Academy

Doug is a native of Mount Pleasant and attended East Carolina University. He grew up playing baseball and tennis but, while in college, at the age of 21, he taught himself beach volleyball and went on to play professionally across the United States and internationally.

He was the first player from the state of South Carolina to make the professional beach tour and went on to play professionally for 23 years. He was inducted into the Myrtle Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2021.

Doug was a volunteer coach at Laing Middle School boys volleyball for four years and at Oceanside Collegiate Academy for three years. Doug is married and has three sons.
