Reed Franklin is a Varsity Lacrosse midfielder and draw specialist at OCA who brings speed, competitiveness, and leadership to every game. She also competes in volleyball as an outside hitter, showcasing her athletic versatility and ability to impact multiple programs. Reed plays with confidence and energy while continuing to elevate her game through dedication and hard work.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Reed attended Cario Middle School before joining OCA. She is the daughter of Lesley and Chip Franklin and the sister of June, Otis, and Gwen. Reed deeply admires her mom for her determination, self-discipline, and unwavering support — qualities that inspire her both on and off the field.
Academically, Reed has earned All A’s Honor Roll recognition and maintains a strong focus on excellence in the classroom. During the week, she prioritizes school and extra reps for lacrosse, and on weekends, she often travels to Philadelphia to compete with her club team, HHH 2029 Blue. Her competitive experiences include participating in prestigious events such as the Junior Open Showcase, Under Armour 150 Showcase, and the American Select Showcase Team for North Carolina. She also served as captain of her JV lacrosse team.
Reed enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling, running, walking, and hanging out with friends and family. Her favorite sport to watch includes lacrosse, football, and volleyball, and she looks up to NFL star T.J. Watt for his relentless work ethic and defensive impact.
Her favorite movie is Rocky, and she enjoys watching Outer Banks. Musically, she listens to Tim McGraw.
Reed follows a few simple game-day superstitions — putting on her left cleat before her right, tying her left cleat first, and wearing her signature bubble braid for games to stay locked in. After graduation, she plans to continue playing lacrosse at the collegiate level while pursuing her academic goals. With her drive, discipline, and leadership, Reed is building a future rooted in both athletic and personal growth.
