Oceanside Collegiate Academy

Allison Dodson-Bonaminio teaches dual-enrollment Public Speaking at Oceanside Collegiate Academy through Trident Technical College. She is a National Board Certified English Language Arts teacher and has spent the past 20 years in education as an English teacher, department chair, instructional coach, and assistant principal.

Allison loves watching students gain confidence as speakers, especially those who start the semester feeling nervous about standing in front of the class. She gives them time to practice, encourages them to support one another, and helps them see how the skills they’re learning apply to life outside school.

In addition to teaching, Allison tutors middle and high school students and mentors teachers pursuing National Board Certification. When she’s not working, she enjoys reading, going to the gym, cooking, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog.
