Stephanie Haynes is living out her dream. Since her second grade teacher, Mrs. Brennan, taught her how to make her own peanut butter, all she ever wanted to do was teach.
A quintessential California girl, Haynes was born in Bakersfield and attended high school in Pleasant Hill. Her father, Stephan Whitman, played alongside the likes of Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman as a long-time member of the USGA before becoming a police officer in San Francisco, like his father before him. Her mother, Roberta, was an entrepreneur who owned her own insurance brokerage company.
As a student at College Park High, Haynes was a member of the pep squad and was a song leader. She chose to attend college at Cal State University, Chico because, at the time, it was ranked as the best teacher's college in the nation.
At CSU Chico she majored in English, earning her bachelor's degree in 1992. She has continued to build on that educational foundation through her life, earning multiple post-graduate certifications. Those include the Professional Christian Coaches Institute, the Jeni Catron 4-Sight Leadership Academy, P30 Speaker Training as well as the ESL Educator Certification Program at the University of San Diego.Â
She is also an ICF and NCDA certified professional coach.
She began her career as a teacher immediately following graduation from CSU Chico. In fact, she she taught every English class possible at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, CA, for 10 years. She also taught English at the Health Partnerships Academy. During her time teaching in California she serves as the Chair of the Technology Committee for Net Day as well as the WASC Accreditation Committee where she focused on school culture, the English Department and the Renaissance Committee.
If that wasn't enough, she also served as the school cheer coach.
After leaving Ygnacio Valley she followed her faith, Founding and running Peace of Mind Ministries in both Weldon Spring, Mo., and in Mt. Pleasant, SC.Â
In 2017, she was called to return to the classroom, teaching English at Oceanside Collegiate Academy. It was during that time when she developed her COMPASS Program, which is being used at all Pinnacle Charter Academies. She started her own Education Coaching and Consulting business in 2019 and has used that platform to build a dynamic career as an author of three books with a dynamic blog and podcast in addition to staying busy with speaking engagements on team building, leadership, motivation, goal-setting and more.

She joined Pinnacle Charter Academies in 2022 as School Support Coordinator for Academic Programming.
She and her husband, Scott (also a Californian), have two children. Their daughter, Taylor, is a graduate of the University of Missouri and the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology and lives in Nashville where she is engaged to be married in September of 2023. Their son Christopher is a 2020 Oceanside graduate who is a Sports, Entertainment and Event Management major at Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte where he is also a member of the men's soccer team.Â
She has a dog named Farley and is a voracious reader, thanks in part to being challenge by Mrs. Brennan to read 100 books while in the second grade. She is also a lover of music and movies and is led in everything she does by her faith.
