Tricia Hargrove joins the Oceanside Collegiate Academy staff as the head cheer coach for the 2026-27 academic year.
An experienced corporate communications and education professional with a background in administrative coordination, program leadership, and academic advising, Hargrove is passionate about strengthening programs, building collaborative and supportive communities, and supporting student success.
Her professional experience includes roles with the University of Kentucky, American Cancer Society, and Shrimp & Grits Kids, where she developed strengths in student advising, communications, program coordination, administrative operations, and organizational leadership.
In higher education, she advised undergraduate students on academic planning, course selection, and degree completion, while also teaching first-year orientation courses focused on academic success and the transition to college. She collaborated with faculty and departments to support student retention and academic progress.
In corporate and nonprofit environments, she has lead national communications and program operations, managing affiliate networks, coordinating outreach initiatives, and supporting organizational growth through effective communication and program management.
She has also spent several years coaching cheerleading, helping grow a school program from non-competitive to competitive while mentoring student-athletes in teamwork, leadership development, and school engagement.
She received her undergraduate degree in Corporate & Organizational Communication from Western Kentucky University and followed up with a master of science degree from Murray State University in Organizational Communication. She also has a certification from the American Heart Association in CPR / AED.
