Mt. Pleasant, SC – The Oceanside Collegiate Academy volleyball teams put on a clinic for visiting Battery Creek High on Tuesday night, sweeping the visiting Dolphins in all three matches at the OCA Gym.

The OCA varsity girls ran their win streak to four consecutive matches and improved to 6-3 on the season. The boys team remained undefeated on the year, improving the 8-0. The girls' junior varsity kept pace, improving to 4-0 on the year with its victory.

Junior Brianna Bowman led the way for the Landsharks in the varsity girls win with 10 kills. Senior setter Lexi Duplessis continued to play, recording seven service aces in the match.

OCA cruised to a 25-3 win in the first set before winning 25-17 and 25-9 to complete a 3-0 victory.

The boys' game was a little more tightly contested, but Oceanside was never threatened in the match, winning 25-14, 25-17 and 25-16.

The junior varsity girls also had an easy time in their match, winning 25-8 and 25-6.

"I loved how our team played clean and efficient volleyball," JV coach AJ Koele said. "I especially loved how effective our serves were in taking Battery Creek out of its system."

The JV girls are off until next Tuesday when they will travel, along with the varsity girls, to Orangeburg-Wilkinson High. The JV match is scheduled for 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 6:30 p.m.

The OCA boys' team will be busy next week with a trio of matches. The Landsharks will host Cathedral Academy on Monday at 6 p.m. before visiting Phillip Simmons on Tuesday night, also with a 6 p.m. start.
