OCA Golf Team Takes Top Honors At Patriot Invitational

Summerville, SC – The Oceanside Collegiate Academy boys' golf team got its' 2025 season off to a roaring start on Monday, winning the 2025 Fort Dorchester Patriot Invitational at The Golf Club at Wescott Plantation.
 
The Landsharks were not seriously challenged by any of the other 20 teams in the field, posting a final score of 296 in the 18-hole event, 13 shots ahead of second place James Island High.
 
The defending Class AA state champions were led by junior Canon Moriarty, who finished second in the individual standings after posting a two-under par round of 70. Campbell McClain of Waccamaw High was the only individual with a better score, earning medalist honors with a three-under par score of 69.
 
The Landsharks had four players finish in the top 10 with junior Ellis Neal and senior JR Passmore posting matching scores of three over par 75 to tie for seventh with Aiken High's Evan Crooks. Sophomore Reed Cook finished in a three-way tie for 10th place with a score of 76.
 
Senior Parker Harcum also had a good first day, posting a round of 79 to finish tied for 22nd.
 
The Landsharks will return to action next week at the Lowcountry Invitational, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, March 10-11. The event will be played at the May River Golf Club in Bluffton on Monday and at the Berkeley Hall Club on Tuesday.
 
The field for the tournament will include Hilton Head Prep, Hilton Head Christian, Trinity Collegiate, Nation Ford, May River, Heritage Academy, Benedictine Military, Fort Mill, Bluffton and others.
