                     Mt. Pleasant, SC – The Oceanside Collegiate Academy girls golf team played its final regular season match on Monday at Patriot's Point against Academic Magnet.
 
It was the fourth time this fall the two squads have played head-to-head and, for the fourth time, it was the Falcons who came away with the victory, besting the Landsharks by 20 shots, 193-213.
 
Oceanside falls to 2-6 on the year in match play with the loss while Academic Magnet improved to 4-3.
 
Both teams will turn their attention toward the SCHSL state tournament. Oceanside, playing in AAA, will play October 28-29 at The Hackler Club in Conway while Academic Magnet will play on the same dates at the Chester Golf Club in AA.
 
Sophomore 
Sarah Hoffman led the Landsharks in the match on Monday, posting a score of 43 over the nine-hole event. Sophomore 
Carson Chavis was second with a score of 51, followed by senior 
Avelyn Holtkamp with a 59, sophomore 
Emme Hines with a 60 and junior 
Piper Swatt with a 62.
 
The Landsharks will spend the next two weeks practicing in preparation for the state tournament. Oceanside finished as the SCHSL Class AA runner up last fall. Waccamaw is the defending state champion in Class AAA.
