Mt. Pleasant, SC – The Oceanside Collegiate Academy girls golf team has dropped a pair of head-to-head matches against Academic Magnet Charter School in the last week.
On Wednesday, October 2, the Landsharks fell to the Falcons by 13 shots at Patriot's Point. On Monday, October 7, the margin was 28 shots.
"Our girls are working hard, but we are a very inexperienced team, and it shows when we play the better teams," Landsharks coach
Rocky Catalano said.
Sophomore
Sarah Hoffman led the Landsharks in both matches. She posted a score of 39 in the first match and followed up with a 43 the second time around.
Senior
Avelyn Holtkamp was second in the match on the second with a score of 52. She was followed by junior
Piper Swatt (53), sophomore
Emme Hines (54) and sophomore
Carson Chavis (55).
In the match on Monday, it was Hines who finished second with a score of 56. She was followed by Chavis (57), senior
Madeline Hines (62) and junior
Zoey Sproat (64).
The Landsharks will take another swing against Academic Magnet next Monday at Patriot's Point in preparation for the SCHSL Championship, which is scheduled to be played on The Hackler Course in Conway on October 28-29.
