Mt. Pleasant, SC – The Oceanside Collegiate Academy girls' basketball team rolled to its sixth consecutive win on Wednesday night, downing visiting Waccamaw High 64-39 at the OCA Gym.
The Landsharks improved to 10-1 on the season with the victory while dropping the visiting Warriors to 3-5 on the year.
"It was a solid team win, with scoring coming from all over the roster," OCA coach
Mandy Harrison said. "We handled their full court pressure well and passed the ball well. Our players have been working hard and playing unselfish basketball. Steady, consistent growth has been our focus, and our job is not done for this week."
Oceanside edged into the lead early, getting a pair of three-pointers in the opening quarter for a 15-8 advantage, setting the stage for a busy second quarter. The Landsharks pulled out to a 39-12 lead by halftime by connecting on four three-pointers as well as taking advantage of opportunities near the basket to score 24 points in the quarter.
OCA spent the rest of the game nursing their 27-point lead, winning by a final margin of 25.

Ella Mae Schepp scoring a game-high 16 points and forward
Teagan Scott adding 13. Junior guard
Ella Hunter also chipped in with 13 points while junior
Josie Hanks connected on a trio of three-pointers to finish with nine.
Overall, the Landsharks hit nine three-pointers in the game while holding Waccamaw to just three, all from junior Kendall Mason, who led the Warriors with 11 points.
The Landsharks will close out a busy pre-Christmas schedule on Friday at 5 p.m. when they travel to Summerville to face Northwood Academy. The Chargers are 6-4 on the season and coming off a 19-point loss to Ashley Ridge on Monday.
"This will be a tough matchup on the road against a good team," Harrison said.
Following a week off for the holiday, the Landsharks will return to play next Friday, December 27, at home against Nitro (WV) High in the first game of the Carolina Lowcountry Invitational. That game is scheduled for a 6:15 p.m. start.
Oceanside is also scheduled to square off against Mars Area (Pa.) High on Saturday, December 28, at 3 p.m., and will finish the tournament against St. Agnes Academy from Houston, Texas, on Monday, December 30, at 1:45 p.m.
