Mt. Pleasant, SC – Oceanside Collegiate Academy and its management company Pinnacle Charter Academies remains extremely confident in the future of the school despite published reports of financial difficulties for the school's charter authorizer Limestone University.
 
"We understand that Limestone University is going through some financial struggles right now, but we remain supremely confident in our future with the Limestone Charter Association, which serves the authorizer for Oceanside Collegiate Academy," Pinnacle CEO Mike D'Angelo said. "LCA will remain our authorizer for next year and we are confident it will be business as usual during the 2025-26 academic year."
 
The Limestone Charter Association's mission is to serve as the cornerstone of charter school authorization in South Carolina and to facilitate a positive educational environment that fosters school autonomy through support and oversight of its member schools. The LCA board, at its regularly scheduled meeting next week, will consider providing authorization for three new charter schools in South Carolina.
 
LCA currently serves as the authorizer for 13 charter schools across South Carolina, including three members of the Pinnacle Charter Academies family.
 
"As we approach the end of another successful school year, we are proud of the tremendous progress of our students and educators," LCA Superintendent Angel Malone said.
 
"We remain mission-focused and motivated, and we look forward to continuing to work together with lawmakers, educators and, especially, students and families to make our schools stronger than ever heading into next fall."
