Mt. Pleasant, SC – The Oceanside Collegiate Academy baseball team is building a head of steam as the Landsharks gear up for the upcoming SCHSL playoffs.

The Landsharks completed region play last Friday with a perfect 8-0 record and head into the playoffs with a 20-5 overall record, good enough to be ranked No. 1 in the state in Class AA according to MaxPreps.

In addition to their top ranking in Class AA, the Landsharks are also ranked No. 8 in the state overall.

The Landsharks are hitting a robust .337 as a team for the year. Tagger Tyson leads OCA's attack with a .486 batting average that includes 15 extra-base hits and a team-leading 32 RBI. On the mound, Jackson Sobel is a perfect 6-0 on the season with a 1.09 ERA over 38.2 innings of work.

The Landsharks swept their way to the SCHSL Class AA state title last year and will be looking to repeat when the playoffs get underway next week.
