North Charleston, SC – The Oceanside Collegiate Academy girls' tennis team took a step on Tuesday toward a fourth consecutive state title by dispatching Aynor High 6-0 in the Landsharks' second round matchup at Collins Park.
The Landsharks move on to play in the SCHSL Class AAA quarterfinals against Georgetown High on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. That match will also be played at Collins Park.
"We started the lower state playoffs very strong," OCA coach
Shawn Harris said. "Everyone did what they were supposed to do, and we were focused as a team, cheering each other on. Everyone played well and got the job done. Now, it is on to the next round."
Not only did the Landsharks win the match 6-0, they also won every individual match 6-0, 6-0 in a dominant performance. Coming off their only loss of the year in the final regular season match at Lucy Beckham, Oceanside now stands at 10-1 on the year.
Georgetown (11-5) advanced with a 5-1 victory over Fox Creek on Tuesday.
