Mt. Pleasant, SC – The question at the OCA Gym on Tuesday night was not whether the top-ranked Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks would advance to the second round of the SCHSL playoffs, but rather what the margin of victory would be.
The Landsharks put away any doubt about the victory with a 22-2 outburst to start the game against opening round foe Swansea, who finished winless, 0-19, on the year. OCA continued to pour it on the Tigers throughout the game, taking an 85-15 victory. It was the largest margin of the year for a Landsharks' team with an average margin of victory of 20.5 points per game in their 21 previous wins.
Oceanside was so dominant throughout the game that the Landsharks beat Swansea's scoring total for the game in each of the first three quarters and fell just two points shy in the final period.

Jake Thomas gave the Landsharks a solid one-two punch in the game. Jones connected on five three-pointers and finished with 24 points while Thomas stayed inside the arc to score his 20. Junior
Kaedon Sanders came off the bench to chip in with 10 points.
The Tigers got 10 of their 15 points from sophomore guard Zyshawn Jamison.
With the win, Oceanside (22-1) moves on to host Georgetown High on Thursday evening at the OCA Gym. The Bulldogs (16-10) advanced to the second round with a resounding 80-44 victory over Silver Bluff on Tuesday. Georgetown is averaging 63.4 points per game this year but is also surrendering almost 52 points per outing.
Senior guard Amos Jones is the biggest threat for the Bulldogs, averaging 20.3 points per game. He has scored 30 or more points in a game three times, including a season-high 35 against Camden and has been held to single digits just twice, most recently in an eight-point loss to Waccamaw when he scored just six.
The Bulldogs are just 3-8 on the road this season, excluding neutral site games. The Landsharks will be looking for their 19th consecutive win. The tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday.
