Mt. Pleasant, SC – After dispatching Georgetown on Thursday night to advance to the third round of the SCHSL state playoffs, the Oceanside Collegiate Academy boys' basketball team will host Keenan tonight at 7 p.m. with a trip to Florence and a berth in the Lower State Championship on the line.

The top ranked Landsharks have now won 19 consecutive games and stand with a record of 23-1 on the year.

In the victory over Georgetown, it was junior Jake Thomas who led the way, scoring a game-high 15 points while senior Carson Jones added nine on a trio of three-point baskets.

The Landsharks showed they could be methodical in earning the victory, slowly building on their lead throughout the game. OCA finished the opening period with a seven-point lead (15-8) and bult it to 13 (29-16) by halftime, and 17 (43-26) by the end of the third quarter.

Georgetown, which finished the season with a 16-11 record, was led by senior guard Amos Jones with 18 points, with all but two of those coming in the second half when he scored 16 of the Bulldogs' 21 total points.

Tonight's game against Keenan, which stands with a 19-8 overall record including an eight-game road win streak, will likely be a bigger challenge. The Raiders advanced to tonight's showdown with a 64-46 victory over Dillon behind a 17-point, 10 rebound performance from senior Brian Sumpter, who is averaging 18 points per game.

As a team, Keenan is scoring 63.5 points per game this year while shooting 50 percent from the floor, including 34 percent from three-point range. The Raiders shoot just 61 percent from the free throw line.

With a victory, the Oceanside boys' team will advance to join the OCA girls in playing for the SCHSL Lower State title. That game would be played on Friday in Florence with the winner of the OCA-Keenan game facing the winner of tonight's other quarterfinal matchup between Loris and Fox Creek.
