Mt. Pleasant, SC – The Oceanside Collegiate Academy girls' volleyball team advanced to the second round of the SCHSL Class AAA playoffs on Thursday night with a convincing 3-0 victory over visiting Silver Bluff at the OCA Gym.
The Landsharks improved to 13-3 on the year with the victory. Oceanside allowed the visiting Bulldogs to score just 14 points in the three-set win. OCA won 25-3, 25-4 and 25-7.
"We tried a lot of different things tonight and it was fun to watch all of the girls step up and play the way they did," OCA coach
Jennifer Fort said.
Senior setter
Lexi Duplessis led the way for the Landsharks, posting nine service aces, five kills and 10 assists. Juniors
Chloe Millard and
Athena Bold chipped in with five kills each, part of 28 total kills in the match for Oceanside.
The Landsharks will look to continue to advance in the playoffs on Tuesday evening when they host Loris High at 6 p.m. Loris (6-12) advanced with a 3-0 victory over Swansea on Thursday.
"We lost in the second round last season, so we are focused on Tuesday and excited to be playing it at Oceanside," Fort said.
