Landsharks Set to Host Hampton County for Lower State Title

The Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks will face Hampton County at 8 p.m. on Saturday with the boys basketball Lower State title on the line. The game will be played in Florence, SC, at the Florence Center.

Each of these teams will be fighting to keep win streaks alive as Hampton County comes in on 16-game streak while Oceanside comes in on a 12-game run.

Hampton County extended its postseason success on Monday against Andrew Jackson. The Hurricanes came out on top against the Volunteers by a score of 68-56. 

In what's become a running theme this season, Oceanside gave its fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 65-38 victory over Marion. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, thanks to a 37-14 run which gave the Landsharks a 24-point advantage.

Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Hampton County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kavon Chisolm led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Chisolm hasn't dropped below 15 points for eight straight games. Darius Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
